What’s the most important area that we should spend our money on? What do you think we shouldn’t do anymore? If you have a view please come along to one of our budget public sessions this month.
Our financial future is bleak. It will come as no surprise that we face some very difficult decisions because our government funding is being cut year on year.
We’ve already made £31million savings in the past five years. We are expecting a further £8million shortfall next year. So it’s important we talk about it.
Some of the potential changes we could introduce are: more extra-care homes for older people; more activities at our country parks such as festivals; only producing electronic publications; and reviewing contracts with third party providers.
So, what do you think? You may have some other ideas that we haven’t thought about so please come along to one of the sessions listed below. No need to book, just turn up at 7pm. Refreshments available.
- Monday 19 October 2015 at St Crispin’s School, London Road, Wokingham
