Outdoor cinema returns to Dinton Pastures

Outdoor cinema returns to Dinton Pastures

16 August 2017
Dinton Pastures

Dinton Pastures’ second outdoor cinema weekend is serving up two contrasting treats this August Bank Holiday weekend.

Whether it’s the swashbuckling thrills of Jonny Depp and Keira Knightley in Pirates of the Caribbean or the more gentle charms of Meryl Streep and Pierce’ Brosnan’s ABBA-inspire Mamma Mia!, Dinton Pastures Country Park will provide the perfect backdrop.

Mamma Mia! will kick things off on Sunday August 27 and Pirates of the Caribbean–The Curse of the Black Pearl will be screened the following evening (Monday August 28).

The evenings start at 7.30pm for those who wish to either picnic or tuck into the dishes on offer from the Riverside Café. The café will be serving Greek- style snack platters, Ouzo mixers and Santorini  Sunrise cocktails on Sunday followed by tasty Caribbean snack platters and rum cocktails on the Monday.

If you decide to upgrade to the premium package you will be guaranteed a comfy deck chair or beanbag to lounge in, and a snack platter of food to enjoy before the movie. All tickets include a packet of popcorn and visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic and seating.

The films will start no earlier than 8:30pm. The start time may vary slightly depending on cloud cover on the day to ensure it is dark enough to see the full big screen experience. The movie screenings aim to finish at 11pm.

Standard tcket prices are £15 adults and £10 for concession, with premium tickets costing a flat fee of £24.95 per person. This is a family event, with the suggested minimum ages being 8+ for Mamma Mia and 12+ for Pirates of the Caribbean.  Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Cllr. Norman Jorgensen, executive member for environment, sports, leisure and libraries said: “Dinton Pastures is a beautiful country park and the perfect spot to lounge in a deckchair while enjoying an outdoor movie.”
