More than £13,000 was raised for a vital local charity at the Wokingham Borough Mayor’s Gala Ball earlier this month.
The gala ball, hosted by borough Mayor Cllr John Kaiser raised money for the Me2 Club, which enables children and young people with additional needs and disabilities, aged 5-19, in the Wokingham Borough, to attend mainstream activity clubs.
The evening, which was funded through sponsorship from local and national companies, raised money for Me2 through ticket sales, an auction and raffle.
Cllr Kaiser said: “it was a lovely evening and I am delighted we managed to raise so much for such a great cause. I’d like to thank all the sponsors and all those who came for supporting this extremely worthwhile event.”
About 130 people attended the ball at Sindlesham Court on Saturday March 9, which was sponsored by Willy Wonka Travel, Legal and General, Crest Nicholson and Redwood Technologies among others.
