Gear Up During Bike Week For Your Chance to Win £750

06 June 2019

8-16 June is Bike Week, and to celebrate Wokingham Borough Council’s My Journey Team are giving you the chance to win £750.

You can spend it in a local bike shop or on a European city break and all you have to do qualify for a free entry is to log a ten minute cycle on our Love to Ride website.

We’ll be celebrating everyday cycling for everyone during Bike Week, with a series of events across the borough all hosted by the My Journey Team.

You’re invited to join in the fun with activities including Adult Cycle Training, Shine classes for the over 60s and our Woky Wheels 4 All classes, as well as our popular Bikeability Learn to Ride and Balance Bike clubs for our younger residents, there’s something for everyone going on during bike week.
To further celebrate Bike Week, our My Journey team has also teamed up with Love to Ride, an organisation dedicated to get more people enjoying Britain on their bikes. By registering on our dedicated Love to Ride web page and logging a ten minute cycle, you could be in with a chance to win some fantastic prizes.

Cllr Pauline Jorgensen, executive member for highways said, “Our My Journey team are dedicated to helping those who want to increase the number of journeys they make on a bike around the borough. They run great cycle training sessions for adults and children, not just during Bike Week, to teach people how to ride a bike and build up cycling confidence”.

Our free Doctor Bike events are also back by popular demand with the opportunity for you to bring your bike for a basic bike check-up which is perfect if your bike has been stored away for a long time and you want help to get back in the saddle.

Dr Bike will be out and about during Bike Week at Wokingham Train Station, on 11th June 4pm-6pm and, to celebrate Clean Air Day on 20th June, they will also be Peach Place in Wokingham Town Centre where bike parking and a permanent bike pump will be available to make journeying into Wokingham Town Centre by bike easier.

Further details about bike week, the prizes up for grabs and all the terms and conditions can be found on our love to ride webpage. Further information on all My Journey event can be found on the their website.
