With the election out of the way we can now get down to the joyous preparations for Christmas.
I have had the great pleasure of attending school nativity plays and carol concerts and it has been a joy to see the delight on the children’s and parents faces during these performances.
At this time we can turn our attention to thinking of family and friends and the pleasure of celebrating the festive season with them.
We are extremely fortunate to be living in a Borough that enjoys a healthy and generally prosperous life.
But we must remember those who are not as fortunate.
Throughout my year as Mayor I have been delighted to visit, and be amazed by the number of volunteer organisations and volunteers within Wokingham Borough, who are there to support the sick, elderly, the young and those in need. Without these groups our Borough would be a much poorer place.
Many of these organisations will, I know, be available throughout the Christmas period and will be giving their time freely.
To all these groups and on behalf of the people you help I would like to say a huge thank you.
To all, who live within the Wokingham Borough, I wish you a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas.
Cllr Bill Soane,
Wokingham Borough Mayor
