A327 Shinfield Road closures 3 to 7 April

A327 Shinfield Road closures 3 to 7 April

31 March 2017
Road opening

Hochtief is planning overnight closures from 3 to 7 April on sections of the A327 Shinfield Road in Shinfield, between Cutbush Lane and the Black Boy Roundabout.

The closures are so the University of Reading contractor can resurface the gyratory carriageway, paint new lines and finish this stretch of highway in the Shinfield Eastern Relief Road project.

Shinfield Road northbound only (towards Reading) is due to be shut overnight 3 to 5 April, between 9pm and 6am.

The official diversion for this is via A327 Hollow Lane, B3349 Hyde End Road, Basingstoke Road, A33 Basingstoke Road and B3270 Whitley Wood Lane.

On 6 and 7 April Shinfield Road is due to be closed in both directions, from 9pm to 6am (although on the Friday it won’t start until midnight for the Black Boy Public house opening hours).

This diversion is via A327 Hollow Lane, B3349 Hyde End Road, Basingstoke Road, A33 Basingstoke Road and B3270 Whitley Wood Lane or this route reversed.

During these closures Cutbush Lane can be reached via the above diversion and then from the A327 Hollow Lane into Wychelm Road, Wheatfields Road, Seymour Avenue and Oatlands Road.

Pedestrians, cyclists and the emergency services will still have access during the closures.

Overnight on 8 and 9 April overnight work continues, without road closures, to focus on the kerbside. This will involve a lane closure around Lane End farm gyratory and temporary two-way lights on Arborfield Road.
