Dinton Pastures Country Park in Hurst will be brought to life with an interactive outdoor walking theatre at the end of the month (30 July).
There will be two different showings from the Walking Theatre Company: an afternoon (1.30pm to 3pm) 'Whiz around Oz' adventure and an early evening (4.30pm to 6pm) performance of ‘Treasure Island’.
The whole park will become the stage for the walking productions, set against its backdrop of lakes, rivers and meadows.
Dorothy has lost Toto, the cowardly lion has lost the Scarecrow, the Wicked Witch has lost the plot, and the Great Wiz has lost his marbles! If anyone is feeling more of a pirate than a munchkin then they should join Jim Lad Hawkins on an intrepid island adventure. Can you help discover Captain Flints buried treasure, escape from Long John Silver, capture the 'good ship' Hispaniola and get home in time for tea?
Ticket prices are £10 for concession and £15 for adults. This is billed a family event, although the suggested minimum age is eight-years. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Cllr Angus Ross, executive member for environment, said: "This would make a fabulous summer holiday treat for all the family; educational, fun and outdoors. The walking theatre will be an enjoyable summer afternoon in the backdrop of Dinton Pastures, a true gem within the Wokingham Borough."
