A number of recent surveys have given our local towns and villages a big thumbs up!
Lower Earley also topped the charts in the top 20 places in England and Wales for families. Twyford, Woodley and Wokingham all featured in the same survey, which looked at education, childcare, safety, property, amenities and population.
We’re also really proud that Earley featured in a survey by the Centre for Economics and Business Research for Royal Mail. It was one of four South East locations in the top ten highlighting it as one of the most desirable addresses in the UK. The survey looked at two years’ worth of data on employment prospects, working hours, affordable housing, average community times and access to green space.
Wokingham once again featured in the top ten places to live in the UK. The annual Halifax quality of life survey looked at a range of factors including health, earnings, crime rates and life expectancy. Employment rates, wellbeing and the weather are also taken into account.
We also have the lowest rate of child poverty in the South East which is pleasing from a comparative perspective, but it isn’t a cause for celebration. We cannot be complacent so will continue with our programmes supporting vulnerable children and their families to ensure every one of them has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
