There is a lot of choice available for local couples.
The Chancellor asked the Law Commission in 2018 to review how and where couples can marry, yet legislation changes can take years.
But here in the Wokingham Borough, we already offer a range of flexible options. As well as churches and the Register Office, you can get married at other approved premises throughout the Borough.
And if you want to have a ceremony in premises without a licence then, subject to a few basic requirements, we can organise a vows ceremony with a separate legal ceremony at the Register Office.
We have a team of experienced registrars to call on and every one of our ceremonies are personalised to a couple’s wishes.
You can choose your legal words, write your own vows, have readings, music etc.
For couples already married but wanting to re-affirm their promises, we also provide renewal of vows ceremonies.
