Wokingham Borough Council’s sport and leisure team are working on a brand new holiday camp for borough children during the school holidays and wants to hear from residents to help shape its new activities programme.
The new holiday camp is a separate scheme (paid by parents) to the government-funded Holiday, Activities and Food Programme (HAF).
Formally known as Wokingham Active Kids, the new camp is set to be launched in the Easter holidays.
The council has launched a consultation survey and wants to hear from parents and guardians on the sports and other fun activities they would like to see on the new programme, express views on the activity camp locations in Wokingham Borough and share suggestions on how the current programme can be improved.
The council is also seeking views from residents whose children have participated in other holiday activity camps.
Cllr Parry Batth, executive member for environment and leisure, said: “The school holidays is the perfect time for children to have fun, make friends, learn new skills and take part in fun activities. Whether your child enjoys swimming, rugby, boxing, martial arts, tennis or arts and crafts, we want to hear from you. Take part in our survey and have your say to help shape the activities for your child or children to participate in at our holiday camp.”
About the new activity camp
The camp is available to all Wokingham Borough children aged between 5 and 12 years old during the school holidays.
