Me2 Club was delighted to host a Tea Party on Monday 17 September that was attended by HRH The Countess of Wessex.

The 100 guests at the party included: Me2 Club Staff, Trustees, children, parents, volunteers, activity leaders and supporters including Wokingham Borough Mayor Cllr John Kaiser and Mayoress Gillian Kaiser.

Bernadette Ferne, Me2 Club’s Chair said: “We are extremely honoured and proud to have been chosen for a Royal visit and would like to extend a huge thank you to The Countess of Wessex for attending our Tea Party. It was an absolute privilege and delight to observe her interaction with the children and the attention she gave to every one of them was very special to see.  I hope it’s a memory they will treasure forever!”

Tess Eagles, Me2 Club’s Manager said: “For the Me2 Club children, taking tea with HRH The Countess of Wessex was an absolute privilege and the highlight of their year. It was amazing to see the children overcome their anxieties to talk with The Countess, watched by their smiling parents. The event was also a perfect opportunity for us to publicly thank our Volunteers, Activity Leaders and Supporters and to discuss our future plans. Meeting The Countess was a wonderful experience for everyone who attended and highlighted the amazing work Me2 Club undertakes to help children with additional needs be included in mainstream leisure activities.”

Mayor's chosen charity

Traditionally, the Mayor chooses a charity to benefit from fundraising during their year in office. This year Cllr Kaiser has chosen to support the Me2 Club.

If you are interested in finding out more about the different ways of supporting the charity during its 15th year, please do get in touch with them via the contact details on the Me2 Club website. They would also love to hear from you if there is a child or young person in your family who would benefit from its unique help.
