Make sure you can head to the polls on 5 May

On Thursday 5 May voters will head to the polls to vote for local elections and the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) election.

Local elections

For the Wokingham Borough, the following wards will have elections:

  • Bulmershe and Whitegates (two seats available)
  • Charvil
  • Emmbrook
  • Evendons
  • Finchampstead North
  • Finchampstead South
  • Hawkedon
  • Hillside
  • Hurst
  • Loddon
  • Maiden Erlegh
  • Norreys
  • Remenham, Wargrave and Ruscombe
  • Shinfield South
  • Twyford
  • Wescott
  • Winnersh
  • Wokingham Without

PCC election

For information on who is standing for the position of Police and Crime Commissioner for the Thames Valley visit the Thames Valley PCC election website.


How to vote

Anyone who is not registered to vote should visit the voter registration website before 18 April.


To vote via post you must be on the electoral register and complete a postal vote application form (PDF document) and return it to us by 5pm on Tuesday 19 April.


To nominate someone to vote on your behalf (vote by proxy) you must be on the electoral register and contact us on (0118) 974 6522 or email: electoralservices@wokingham.gov.uk by 5pm on Tuesday 26 April.


Before 5 May your poll card will have been sent to the address where you are registered. It will say where your polling station is. You can only vote at the polling station that is stated on your own poll card (you do not need to take your polling card with you to vote).
