Tennis players have even more opportunity to work on their serves and volleys with floodlights on the remaining six courts at Cantley Park due to open 18 May at part of the Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekend.
Modern floodlights, have been installed at a further six courts, with all 12 courts at Cantley Park now boasting modern floodlighting.
As part of the official opening on 18 May, free tennis coaching sessions, family time and free play will be available, all part of the Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekend - a nationwide campaign to encourage more people to play tennis by offering free opportunities. More information, including how to book onto events during the weekend, is available on Cantley Park tennis website.
Cllr Graham Howe, deputy executive member for environment, leisure and libraries, said: “We’re delighted to be able to expand our provisions for tennis fans. Tennis is a great way for people of all ages and abilities to stay fit and healthy and these floodlights will allow more tennis to be played all year round.”
These improvements at Cantley Park are in addition to previous work carried out, in partnership with the LTA back in 2017, which saw the three new courts, floodlighting on six courts, and a new clubhouse.
Tennis company, GDT, manages the tennis court facilities, delivering an exciting and varied programme of tennis activities for all ages and abilities. The cost of a household membership is from just £67.50 per year (excluding cost of floodlighting). Further information about memberships and pay and play options is available on the Cantley Park tennis website.
