The official notice setting out the day and hours for the poll for the Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner election is now available to view on the Thames Valley PCC website.

The official notices setting out the polling stations are also due to be published on local council websites across the Thames Valley today.

The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is responsible for making sure Thames Valley Police is an efficient and effective force.

For the next four years the Police and Crime Commissioner will hold the chief constable of Thames Valley Police to account for how their force performs.

There’s information about the candidates and more about the role of the Police and Crime Commissioner at the Choose my PCC website.

David Buckle, Police Area Returning Officer for the Thames Valley, said: "We’re just over a week away from the election so I’d recommend voters take a bit of time to read more about the candidates – there’s a statement from each of them at the Choose My PCC website, which is a good place to start."
