Things are really taking shape inside the new £14.5million Bulmershe Leisure Centre in Woodley. The six-lane 25 metre swimming pool is in, and tiling has started! The lifts are currently being installed so every part of the centre will be accessible to all. Work has also started on the suspended ceilings on the first floor, along with door frames, doors and screens.
The new centre will also have a teaching pool with movable floor, a bigger gym plus a ‘live well’ (long-term condition) gym, a four-court sports hall, and an additional studio and café. It will benefit the whole community by providing up-to-date, accessible and flexible facilities, as well as preventative health services.
It is being built by our contractor Pellikaan Construction Ltd and once the centre is finished, it will be run by our partners Places Leisure.
