Wokingham Borough Council will raise a rainbow flag on Saturday 10 July in support of the LGBTQ+ Pride. The annual event celebrates equality and diversity within communities across our borough.

Wokingham Borough residents are then invited to mark Pride by coming along to the Wokingham Pride Picnic in Elms Field, Wokingham or picking up an LGBTQ+ themed book, recommended by Wokingham Borough Library staff. As the race towards inclusivity and acceptance continues, displays of rainbow flags in windows are also welcome and residents are encouraged to share empowering messages on social media.

“The pride flag is an important symbol and one that we’re proud to promote,” said Wokingham Borough Mayor, Cllr Keith Baker. “Whether you live, work or study in Wokingham Borough, we recognise, support and celebrate the diversity of our communities. Together we look forward to a bright, colourful future where inclusivity is the foundation.”
