Wokingham Library is celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th Birthday with some right royal events, from 28 May to 18 June.
A Poetry Reading Evening with a royal theme is being hosted by The Wokingham Library Poetry Group on Thursday 2 June, 6.45 to 8pm. This is a free event but please call to book your place.
Share your memories of The Queen, watch a slide show and enjoy tea and cake at Reminiscence Afternoon -The Queen’s 90th Birthday,on Thursday 9 June from 2 to 3.30pm. Again this is free, but please book in advance.
A special Get Arty session making royal crowns, paper chains and decorating cards is being held on Thursday 2 June, from 10.30 to 11.30am. This is suitable for children aged 5 and over. The cost for this drop-in session is £1.50.
Storytime for the under-fives will also have a royal theme, between 4 and 4.30pm on Tuesday 31 May.
Between 28 May and 18 June children of all ages can help decorate a wall in the library by colouring in royal themed objects. Other libraries across the borough will also have a royal activity table with colouring sheets, and quizzes.
In the library café at Wokingham, between 6 and 18 June, there will be a display of photos and information about the Queen’s life. Customers will be able to take part in a quiz, with a special prize.
