After a long break totalling 204 days, Wokingham Borough Council is delighted to announce its SHINE programme for over 60s is returning on 12 October.
As you get older, it’s more important than ever to remain active to stay healthy and maintain your independence. From Zumba Gold, Tai Chi and Pilates - the council’s sport and leisure team have put together a large variety of activities to suit all needs and preferences. If you’re yet to visit the borough’s newest Bulmershe Leisure Centre, try out the energetic Aquafit. Always wanted to try out Fitsteps? Now’s your chance!
“I’d like to personally invite all our senior residents to the SHINE initiative,” said Cllr Parry Batth executive member for environment and leisure. “The past months have been incredibly difficult, with many of us shielding or in isolation. SHINE is a great opportunity to share some fun and meet others alike, whilst also maintaining physical fitness. The leisure facilities in the borough are fantastic, and together with our skilled exercise coaches and trainers I’d like to urge you make the most of them.”
