We, like most of south east England, are experiencing a housing shortage. In 2010, we were tasked with finding a way to accommodate over 13,000 new homes in the borough.
Our vision for providing the majority of the needed housing is through four strategic development locations at Arborfield Garrison, in Shinfield Parish (known as South of the M4), and urban extensions to North Wokingham and South Wokingham.
These major developments will accommodate about 10,000 new homes in carefully planned communities. The other 3,000 new homes will be built in other, smaller suitable locations.
As these new communities are built, nearby residents and businesses may have questions or concerns about what’s happening.
