Wokingham town centre regeneration

Wokingham town centre regeneration

08 April 2016
Elms Field

Over the last few years we've consulted with residents and businesses and developed a scheme which helps deliver some of the most important things from the Wokingham Town Centre Masterplan.

We want to make sure that important facilities identified in these strategic plans are delivered.

We've worked hard to identify experienced partners to help us deliver a fantastic regeneration scheme.

We’ve already completed the first two phases of the regeneration, with improvements to the corner of Rose Street and Broad Street in 2014, and the brand new Carnival multi-storey car park in 2017.

Since then we’ve started on site at Peach Place, which is due to complete for Christmas 2018 and at Elms Field which is due to complete in phases from the end of 2019. Both of these projects will help improve the town centre with new shops, restaurants, public spaces and facilities like a cinema, hotel and fantastic landscaped park with a destination play area.

We’ve also secured planning consent for a brand new large leisure centre at Carnival with work expected to start in 2020.
